What does “HTTP Error 404 - rscmail.exe Not Found” mean?

Answer: If you see the error:

Not Found
The requested URL /cgi-bin/rscmail.exe was not found on this server.

(Note: Some web servers return will report this problem as Page cannot be displayed and/or 405 - Method Not allowed You may need to install rscmail.exe manually)

Here is how to fix it.

A 404 - /cgi-bin/rscmail.exe File Not Found error means that the FREE NT form mail executable proram is not yet installed on your server. To correct this problem please do the following:

Start the program.
Click the “Checkout Button.”
Click the “Server Tab.”
Change the “Server Type” to NT.
Click OK and publish your store.

If you originally were trying to use PayPal for NT After you install the script you can then CANCEL the publishing by closing the publishing wizard, THEN change your Server Type back to “PayPal for NT“ and the next time you publish everything should work fine.

Note: When changing checkout options it is not necessary to rebuild the entire store each time. The only file that needs to be published after changing the checkout parameters are “pay.html” and “secure-pay.html.”

If this doesn’t work you will need to install rscmail.exe manually
