What does “FTP Error 530 - Login incorrect. !Logon failure” so quitting mean?


Answer: If you are getting this error then you need to double check your FTP username and FTP password that you previously entered into RealCart’s publishing wizard.

Typically this username and password will be the same username and password that you use to access your domain’s email but not always.

Here is how to fix this problem.

  • Start RealCart™.
  • Click the “Finish” button on the toolbar.
  • Answer “No” if asked if you want to rebuild all pages.
  • Enter the correct FTP Username into the “FTP Username” field. (Be sure to pay attention to UPPERcase and lowercase letters)
  • Enter the correct FTP Password into the “FTP Password” field.
  • Click “Close” if you do not wish to publish at this time or “Next >” if you do.

If the correct information was specified for both the username and password fields then the publishing wizard will simply upload the files without any more “530 Errors.” If you continue to receive this error you may need to check with your web hosting ISP to find out what the correct username and password is.
