Answer: Whether or not this is the reason you will probably want to offer to call your customer and take their order over the phone. Refer them to our Java Error faq page so they can figure out what is wrong with their computer. Check your computerCheck your computer by trying to place a test order at a known working site like the one at http://shop.realcart.com. By saying test order we just mean testing to see if you can add to cart. (Do not enter credit card info on your test order or you will really be buying something.)If you add to cart OK at RealCarts on-line store then the problem could be with the shopping cart installation itself instead of your PC. If you cannot order at the RealCart on-line store either then the problem is most likely with your PC. Windows Users:Try ordering with Microsoft Internet Explorer. MSIE has not changed its Java handling since MSIE version 2. If you can order with MSIE then you know that the problem must lie with your other browser(s). For example, Netscape version 7.x is currently installing outdated Java Plug-ins. RealCart works with the current release version of Suns Java Virtual Machine but does not work with some of the older variations of this plug-in.If you can order with Internet Explorer, go ahead and complete the order. If you cannot order with Internet Explorer you may want to check one of the other reasons. Macintosh Users:Mac systems are currently being shipped with browsers that no longer support Live Connect Java to JavaScript communication which RealCart relies on. You may want to try Suns Hot Java Browser available from the Sun Web Site. For more info on why Mac users may have problems buying from a RealCart enabled on-line store please review this FAQ.Solaris Users:You may want to try Suns Hot Java Browser available from the Sun Web Site. |
