What is Test Mode and when do I use it??

Answer: Test Mode affects your checkout form by pre-filling the form with customer contact info so you can test your checkout functions. Instead of having to fill in all of the information required at checkout each time you test your checkout form you can place the store in Test Mode so they are filled out automatically.

If you are using Authorize.net 3.0 this also places your Authorize.net merchant account in Test Mode on their end as well.

CAUTION:

Test Mode does not affect other secure order providers like PayPal, LinkPoint, CardReady or any other providers other than Authorize.net 3.0. For this reason you need to understand that if you submit an order with a legitimate credit card number the card will be charged.
