I published my store but I can’t find it at http://www.mydomain.com/cart. Where is it?

Answer: Your store will be uploaded to the ftp server you indicate on the Server window in the publishing wizard. If you didn’t specify an Initial Directory in the “Advanced” FTP Settings dialog this is probably why you cannot find the cart on your site.

If you cannot find the cart at http://www.yourdomain.com/cart then you will either need to specify an Initial Directory if the Initial Directory field is blank. Or, if it contains an Initial Directory value and you still cannot see the cart pages on your site you may need to either change this value or delete it altogether.

Here’s how to fix it

  • Start RealCart™.
  • Click the “Finish” button on the toolbar. (last button on the right.)
  • Answer “No” if asked if you want to rebuild all pages.
  • Click the “Advanced...” button.
  • Enter the correct folder into the “Initial Directory” field.
  • Click “OK.”
  • Click “Yes.”
  • Click “Close” if you do not wish to publish at this time or “Next >” if you do.
Typically your web hosting ISP will include this information when you first set up your web hosting account. Sometimes the folder your html documents is in is simply called “/htdocs” or “/www” or maybe even “/www/htdocs” You may not need anything defined as the “Initial Directory” to publish your files. If you have not tried leaving this field blank, please try leaving it blank and publishing it again.

If you just can’t figure this out on your own, ask your web host what folder your web site html pages are located in. They should be able to answer this basic question about your web hosting plan. If you want to try to figure out what it is on your own, just go here.
